RE: Buoy Advertising

Dear Member,

With a little effort we can raise thousands of dollars for the squadron by selling ads in the Buoys.  As the fall approaches we are looking forward to a renewed effort to sell Buoy advertising.

It is fairly easy to sell ads. Just ask all the establishments you frequent and the service providers you use.  The lawn service, the restaurants, the auto repair garage, your salon or barbershop, that little specialty store you buy at, the prospects are endless.

Here is how you do it.  Get a current copy of The Buoy.  Use it as a handout.  Take a copy of the “The Buoys Advertising Order Form” with you to interview the prospective business owner/manager.  Discuss the obvious benefits of advertising in our monthly newsletter; such as, (a) our monthly circulation of over 400 copies mailed to our membership, via standard post and the internet, (b) distribution of free copies of the Buoys each week at the Cape Coral Farmers Market during season, (c) additional distribution of the newsletter at special events, such as, the Ft. Myers Boat Shows and our local marina events throughout the year and finally, the placement of all advertisement on the Cape Coral Power Squadron’s website: www.powersquadroncapecoral.org, for the public viewing.

Complete the “ad form” if you are successful in getting an advertisement.  Ask the business owner/manager if he/she has a preferred ad design.  If not, advise the new “ad client” that they will be contacted by Sonja Penny, Advertising Manager for the Cape Coral Power Squadron to discuss their ad design.

Return the completed “Ad Order Form” to the office Attention Sonja Penny.  Please attach any preferred ad design and/or business cards.

If you need any assistance or have any questions, please call Sonja Penny @ 239-549-3334 or email afpenny@comcast.net
